AGTR1 (Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor)는 강력한 혈관 수축 호르몬인 Angiotensin II의 주요 수용체로, 알도스테론 분비를 조절하고 심혈관계에서 혈압과 혈액량을 조절하는 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 유전자는 Angiotensin II의 주요 심혈관 작용을 매개하며, 허혈성 또는 경색성 심근의 혈류 회복 후 발생하는 재관류 부정맥의 생성에도 관여할 수 있습니다.
인간에서는 AGTR1B로 알려진 관련 유전자가 존재한다고 여겨졌으나, 현재는 단일 AGTR1 유전자만 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 다양한 전사체 변형이 보고되어 있습니다.
