Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, canine, amphibian, porcine, rabbit, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is breast carcinoma.

Target Information

MAPK1 (ERK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an important activator of p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway.
MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development.
The activation of this kinase requires phosphorylation by upstream kinases. Upon activation, ERK2 translocates to the nucleus of stimulated cells, where it phosphorylates nuclear targets.
