Product Specific Information

The eB121-15F9 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with other mouse immunoglobulin classes (IgD, IgG, IgA). IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B cell development and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues.

Fluorochrome-conjugated eB121-15F9 can be used as a detection secondary antibody for mouse IgM.

Applications Reported:

• Flow cytometric analysis to detect surface IgM on mouse B cells
• Secondary detection of primary mouse IgMs

Applications Tested:

• Tested for flow cytometry at ≤ 0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume)
• Recommended to titrate for optimal performance
• Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the first antibody generated during immune responses and is the largest immunoglobulin in serum. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, IgM mediates complement activation and antigen agglutination.

It plays a key role in the innate immune response, neutralizing pathogens before full activation of adaptive immunity. Mouse IgM is widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry for research and diagnostic applications.
