- For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
- Mouse anti-Human CD41 antibody (clone PM6/248) recognizes the human CD41 cell surface antigen (~140 kDa glycoprotein) expressed by platelets and megakaryocytes.
Target Information
CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, ITGA2B) consists of two subunits (120 kDa α and 23 kDa β) that interact with CD61 in the presence of calcium to form a functional adhesive protein receptor.
CD41 participates in blood coagulation by mediating platelet aggregation. Upon vascular injury, CD41 binds to von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin.
It is mainly expressed on the megakaryocyte-platelet lineage and is involved in early hematopoietic differentiation.
Diseases associated with CD41 dysfunction include Glanzmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet type-16 bleeding disorder.
