Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with porcine based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
Suggested positive controls include breast carcinoma or placenta tissue.

Target Information

Cyclin E is a member of the highly conserved cyclin family, characterized by a periodicity in protein abundance throughout the cell cycle. Cyclins act as regulators of CDK kinases, coordinating mitotic events via distinct expression and degradation patterns.
Cyclin E forms a complex with CDK2, essential for G1/S transition. It accumulates at the G1-S phase boundary and is degraded as cells progress through S phase. Overexpression has been observed in many tumors, contributing to chromosome instability and tumorigenesis.
Cyclin E associates with NPAT protein, involved in histone gene expression and cell-cycle progression independent of pRB.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described; two additional splice variants are reported but lack detailed nucleotide sequence information.
