Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Ubiquitin is a 76 amino acid, highly conserved eukaryotic polypeptide that marks cellular proteins for proteolytic degradation by the 26S proteasome. This process regulates the concentration and lifespan of key regulatory proteins.
Polyubiquitination involves several enzymatic steps:

  1. Activation of ubiquitin by E1 (ATP-dependent thioester bond formation)
  2. Transfer to E2 (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme)
  3. Covalent linkage to target proteins directly or via E3 ligase
Deubiquitination enzymes can reverse this modification.
Ubiquitination is involved in numerous cellular processes including:
  • Cell cycle regulation
  • Growth and differentiation
  • Embryogenesis
  • Apoptosis
  • Signal transduction
  • DNA repair and replication
  • Stress and immune responses
  • Nervous system functions
