For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The human UNG gene encodes both nuclear (UNG2) and mitochondrial (UNG1) forms of uracil-DNA glycosylase. These forms arise from alternative splicing and differentially regulated promoters (PA and PB).
UNG1 and UNG2 cDNAs are similar in size (2061 and 2058 bp) and cannot be resolved as distinct species in gel electrophoresis.
UNG2 differs from UNG1 by 44 amino acids at the N-terminus, which is not required for catalytic activity.
UNG proteins repair mutagenic U:G mispairs caused by cytosine deamination. For example, UNG2 removes misincorporated dUMP residues.
Expression of UNG1 and UNG2 varies by cell and tissue type and is regulated by the cell cycle. UNG activity is higher in proliferating cells.
UNG1 is a 304 amino acid protein, while UNG2 is 313 amino acids.
