Target Information
Collagen IV is a major structural protein of the basement membrane found in tissues such as kidneys, lungs, and skin. It forms a network-like structure providing support and stability. Composed of three alpha chains encoded by COL4A1, COL4A2, and COL4A3 genes, mutations in these genes are associated with disorders such as Alport syndrome and Goodpasture syndrome.
