This antibody has specificity for Human IL-1R8/IL1RAPL1.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 receptor family and resembles the interleukin 1 accessory proteins. It has:

• An N-terminal signal peptide
• Three extracellular immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domains
• A transmembrane domain
• An intracellular Toll/IL-1R domain
• A long C-terminal tail interacting with multiple signaling molecules

This gene is located on chromosome X and is associated with a non-syndromic form of X-linked intellectual disability. Deletions and mutations have been found in patients with intellectual disability.
It is highly expressed in post-natal brain structures involved in hippocampal memory systems, suggesting a role in memory and learning processes, as well as synapse formation and stabilization.
