Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Kindlin-1 is a member of the kindlin family of focal adhesion proteins, containing a FERM domain and a pleckstrin homology domain. It is involved in integrin signaling, cytoskeletal linkage to the extracellular matrix, and cell adhesion. Predominantly expressed in epithelial cells, Kindlin-1 coexpression with talin activates ITGA2B. It is essential for keratinocyte proliferation, basal cell polarization, and normal cell morphology. Mutations in Kindlin-1 are linked to Kindler syndrome, a recessive skin disorder characterized by blistering, photosensitivity, poikiloderma, and atrophy.
