Amino Acid Sequence of Recombinant Protein:

Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human PTHrP. Anti-Human PTHrP-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hPTHrP by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human PTHrP (500-P276) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hPTHrP.

Western Blot:
To detect hPTHrP by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hPTHrP is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the parathyroid hormone family. This hormone regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth. It is involved in lactation by regulating calcium mobilization and transfer to milk. The receptor PTHR1 is responsible for most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been observed, and alternative translation initiation from non-AUG start sites can produce nuclear forms of this hormone.
