MA1-06812 detects reticulon-1A (NSP-A) in human, mouse, hamster, and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.
In Western blot, it detects a ~135 kDa band representing reticulon-1A.
The immunogen is a partially purified bacterially expressed reticulon-1A (NSP-A) hybrid protein.
Target Information
Reticulon-1, formerly designated NSP (Neuroendocrine-Specific-Protein), is specifically expressed in neural and neuroendocrine tissues.
The NSP gene is mapped to human chromosome 14q21–q22 and encodes three overlapping proteins: reticulon-1A (NSP-A), reticulon-1B (NSP-B), and reticulon-1C (NSP-C).
These proteins are anchored to endoplasmic reticulum membranes via their common C-terminal regions.
- Reticulon-1A: ~135 kDa protein, various isoforms depending on phosphorylation status. Reliable marker for neuroendocrine differentiation in lung cancer diagnosis.
- Reticulon-1B: 45 kDa phosphoprotein, restricted to lung cancer cell line NCI-H82, not found in human tissues.
- Reticulon-1C: 23 kDa non-phosphorylated protein, co-expressed with Reticulon-1A in SCLC cell lines.
