Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope on all alternative forms of human CD45 antigen (Leukocyte Common Antigen), a 180–220 kDa single chain type I transmembrane protein expressed at high levels on all hematopoietic cells except erythrocytes and platelets. This antibody does not cross-react with equine species.
- Western Blot: Non-reducing conditions; band around 200–250 kDa; 6% separating gel
- Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): No pre-treatment of tissue sections required
- Immunocytochemistry: Paraformaldehyde fixation applicable
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed on all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent on non-hematopoietic cells and tissues. CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases and JAK kinases. Multiple isoforms arise from alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling, cytokine receptor regulation, and integrin-mediated signal transduction.
