Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD25 (Interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain), a 55 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on activated B and T lymphocytes, activated monocytes/macrophages, and CD4⁺ T regulatory cells. Expression is lost on resting B and T lymphocytes.
Target Information
CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the alpha chain of the interleukin-2 receptor complex, which plays a key role in T and B cell proliferation. The IL2 receptor complex consists of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG subunits forming a high-affinity receptor.
IL2 acts as a growth and differentiation factor for lymphocytes, stimulates NK cell activity, and regulates immune responses. Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency, implicating its role in immune regulation and tolerance.
