Target Information

Upf1은 nonsense-mediated decay(NMD)의 활성 구성 요소로, 진핵세포에서 조기 종결 코돈을 포함하는 mRNA를 분해하는 감시 메커니즘에 관여합니다.
ATP 의존성 RNA helicase로서 세포질 내에서 작용하며, 이후 cytoplasmic P-bodies의 구성 요소로 확인되었습니다.
Upf1의 인산화는 NMD 과정 중 번역 억제를 매개하여 mRNA가 NMD 기전에 접근할 수 있도록 합니다.
또한 NMD의 다른 활성 구성 요소인 Upf2와 Upf3은 각각 perinuclear 및 nucleocytoplasmic 위치에서 발견되었습니다.
