Target Information
HTR2B is a G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). It functions as a receptor for various ergot alkaloid derivatives and psychoactive substances. Ligand binding induces a conformational change that triggers signaling via G proteins and modulates downstream effectors.
HTR2B plays a role in pain perception and behavioral regulation, and is required for normal proliferation of embryonic cardiac myocytes and heart development.
