Target Information
TRRAP is an adapter protein involved in multiple chromatin complexes with histone acetyltransferase (HAT) activity, contributing to epigenetic transcription activation. It is a component of the NuA4 complex responsible for histone H4 and H2A acetylation. TRRAP plays a central role in MYC transcription activation and is required for p53/TP53-, E2F1-, and E2F4-mediated transcription. It also participates in transcription activation mediated by adenovirus E1A. TRRAP links transcription factors such as E1A, MYC, or E2F1 to HAT complexes like STAGA, facilitating transcription activation. It may be required for the mitotic checkpoint and normal cell cycle progression and is part of a SWR1-like complex that mediates removal of histone H2A.Z/H2AFZ from nucleosomes.
