Product Specific Information
For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
Mouse anti-Human CD209 antibody, clone MR-1 recognizes human DC-specific ICAM-3 grabbing nonintegrin (DC-SIGN), an approximately 45 kDa C-type lectin that binds ICAM-3, also known as CD209.
CD209 is primarily expressed on immature dendritic cells in peripheral tissues and on immature myeloid monocyte-derived DCs in vitro.
Target Information
This gene encodes a transmembrane receptor referred to as DC-SIGN (CD209), expressed on dendritic cells and macrophages.
It plays a role in the innate immune system, recognizing diverse pathogens from parasites to viruses.
The protein consists of:
- N-terminal transmembrane domain
- Tandem-repeat neck domain
- C-type lectin carbohydrate recognition domain
The extracellular region functions as both a pathogen recognition receptor and a cell adhesion receptor.
The neck domain enables homo-oligomerization, enhancing multivalent ligand binding.
Variations in the neck domain repeat number can affect ligand binding ability.
DC-SIGN is closely related to L-SIGN (GeneID 10332), differing in ligand-binding properties and distribution.
Alternative splicing produces multiple variants.
