Target Information
CHCHD3 is a component of the MICOS complex, a large mitochondrial inner membrane protein complex crucial for maintaining crista junctions, inner membrane architecture, and contact sites with the outer membrane.
It also functions as a transcription factor that binds to the BAG1 promoter, repressing BAG1 transcription.
CHCHD3 is essential for MICOS complex stability and mitochondrial cristae morphology.
