ITGB3BP is a transcription coregulator with both coactivator and corepressor functions.

• Isoform 1 participates in ligand-dependent coactivation of RXR and TR nuclear receptors.
• Acts as a transcriptional corepressor via interaction with NFKB1, potentially interfering with its transactivation domain.
• Induces apoptosis in breast cancer cells through a caspase-2 mediated pathway involving mitochondrial membrane permeabilization.
• May inhibit cyclin A-associated kinase.
• May assist in incorporating newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres through interaction with the CENPA-NAC complex.
