For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882) to obtain a carrier-free antibody.

Target Information

Cellular retinaldehyde-binding protein (CRALBP) is essential for regenerating 11-cis-retinal used in rod visual pigments such as opsin and rhodopsin.
After photoisomerization, all-trans-retinal is converted to all-trans-retinol, which diffuses into the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) for conversion back to 11-cis-retinol and oxidation to 11-cis-retinal, both catalyzed by CRALBP.
Mutations in CRALBP are associated with visual diseases such as Bothnia dystrophy, retinitis punctata albescens, retinitis pigmentosa, and Newfoundland rod-cone dystrophy.
CRALBP serves as a marker for RPE and Müller glial cells in the retina.
