For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Cellular retinaldehyde-binding protein (CRALBP) plays a crucial role in the regeneration of 11-cis-retinal used in rod visual pigments such as opsin and rhodopsin.
After photoisomerization, 11-cis-retinal is converted to all-trans-retinal and subsequently to all-trans-retinol.
All-trans-retinol diffuses into the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) where it is converted back to 11-cis-retinol and oxidized to 11-cis-retinal, both mediated by CRALBP.
Mutations in CRALBP are associated with visual disorders such as Bothnia dystrophy, retinitis punctata albescens, retinitis pigmentosa, and Newfoundland rod-cone dystrophy.
CRALBP serves as a marker for RPE and Müller glial cells of the retina.
