Target Information
The product of this gene belongs to a small family of adapter proteins that interact with receptor tyrosine kinases and signaling molecules. It encodes a growth factor receptor-binding protein that interacts with insulin receptors and insulin-like growth factor receptors. This protein likely inhibits receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, particularly insulin receptor signaling, and may play a role in pathways regulating growth and metabolism. Several transcript variants have been reported but not fully characterized.
