Target Information
Vinculin (VCL)은 세포 간 및 세포-세포외 기질의 부착성 접합(adherens-type junction)에 관련된 세포골격 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 F-actin을 세포막에 고정시키는 여러 상호작용 단백질 중 하나로 작용합니다. Vinculin은 integrin의 β-서브유닛이 talin에 결합하고, talin이 vinculin에 결합하여 α-actinin과 상호작용하는 일련의 분자적 결합을 통해 부착판(adhesion plaque)의 형성에 관여합니다. α-actinin이 actin filament를 교차결합시키므로, vinculin은 세포외기질과 세포질 미세섬유 시스템을 연결하는 핵심 요소입니다. VCL 유전자의 돌연변이는 확장성 심근병증(1W) 또는 가족성 비후성 심근병증(15)을 유발할 수 있습니다.
