Product Specific Information
- CSI 001-74-02 is highly specific for perlecan with no evidence of cross-reactivity with other connective tissue proteins (vitronectin, fibronectin, elastin, collagen, laminin).
- Cross-reacts with human perlecan; other species not tested.
- Successfully used in ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and Western blotting.
- Applicable for immunoprecipitation, ELISA, and immunostaining of frozen PLP-fixed bovine and human tissues.
- Can be used in affinity chromatography with CSI 001-71-02 to separate recombinant domain I from full-length perlecan.
- Epitope located in domain V.
Target Information
Perlecan is a major heparan-sulfate proteoglycan (HSPG) present in basement membranes and cell surfaces. It regulates tumor cell growth and metastasis by storing and protecting growth factors. Acting as a coreceptor for basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF-2), perlecan promotes angiogenesis and neoplastic growth. Suppression of perlecan inhibits neovascularization, making it a potential therapeutic target for tumor progression.
