Target Information
NBPF15 (NBPF Member 15), located on 1q21.1, is a protein-coding gene belonging to the neuroblastoma breakpoint family (NBPF).
This family consists of numerous recently duplicated genes primarily located in segmental duplications on human chromosome 1 and contains multiple pseudogenes.
Human NBPF15 encodes a 670 amino acid protein with six clades of Olduvai domains.
The complex interactions between mosaic disorder-ordered segments in the NBPF15 N-terminus have been linked to protein aggregation and phase transitions, potentially associated with Olduvai-related cognitive dysfunction diseases.
Diseases associated with NBPF15 include Neuroblastoma and Hydrolethalus Syndrome 1.
An important paralog of this gene is NBPF14.
