Target Information
Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome (VHL)은 다양한 악성 및 양성 종양을 유발하는 상염색체 우성 유전 암 증후군입니다. VHL 유전자의 생식세포 돌연변이는 해당 질환의 가족성 유전의 원인이 됩니다. 이 유전자가 인코딩하는 단백질은 elongin B, elongin C, cullin-2를 포함하는 단백질 복합체의 구성 요소로, ubiquitin ligase E3 활성을 가집니다. 이 단백질은 저산소 유도 인자(HIF)의 유비퀴틴화 및 분해에 관여하여 산소에 따른 유전자 발현 조절에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. RNA polymerase II의 POLR2G/RPB7 서브유닛 또한 이 단백질의 표적임이 보고되었습니다. 서로 다른 isoform을 인코딩하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체도 관찰되었습니다.
