APAF1 (Apoptotic Protease Activating Factor 1)
APAF1 유전자는 세포질 단백질을 암호화하며, 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 개시하는 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 WD-40 도메인, caspase recruitment domain (CARD), ATPase domain (NB-ARC)을 포함합니다. Cytochrome c와 dATP 결합 시, oligomeric apoptosome을 형성하며 caspase 9를 활성화시켜 세포사멸 연쇄반응을 유도합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 다양한 isoform이 생성될 수 있습니다.
