Product Specific Information

The eBioC1.7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD244 (2B4, p38). CD244 is a 38 kDa protein expressed on NK cells, CD8+ T cells subset, γδ T cells, monocytes, basophils, and eosinophils. Binding of CD244 ligand CD48 results in NK cell activation, enhancing cytotoxicity and IFN-γ secretion. The C1.7 antibody binds the same residue in the V domain as CD48, inducing NK cell activation through tyrosine phosphorylation and SAP recruitment.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test.
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD244 (2B4, SLAMF4) is a cell surface receptor expressed on NK cells and some T cells, mediating non-MHC restricted killing. Interaction with SLAMF2 modulates NK-cell cytolytic activity. Reduced SLAMF4 expression has been observed in systemic lupus erythematosus, suggesting involvement in autoimmune pathology. Diseases associated with CD244 dysfunction include rheumatoid arthritis and lymphoproliferative syndrome. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms exist.
