This antibody detects both 158V and 158F allotypes on natural NK cells.
Target Information
CD16 encodes a receptor that recognizes the Fc portion of immunoglobulin G and is involved in the clearance of immune complexes from circulation, as well as functions such as cell-mediated cytotoxicity and enhancement of viral infections.
The gene FCGR3A shares high similarity with FCGR3B, located on chromosome 1.
- Expression: FCGR3A on NK cells (transmembrane), FCGR3B on PMN (PI linkage)
- Associated Diseases: Immunodeficiency 20, Herpes Zoster, systemic lupus erythematosus, alloimmune neonatal neutropenia
- Note: Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms exist.
