Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat GM-CSF. Anti-Rat GM-CSF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat GM-CSF by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat GM-CSF (500-P225) as a capture antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat GM-CSF.

Western Blot:
For detection of Rat GM-CSF by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 mg/mL. When used with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat GM-CSF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active form exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space. This gene is located in a cluster of related genes at chromosome region 5q31, associated with interstitial deletions in the 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in the cluster include interleukins 4, 5, and 13. The gene promotes tissue inflammation, and elevated cytokine levels, including GM-CSF, have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
