Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure recombinant Rat GM-CSF. The anti-Rat GM-CSF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Rat GM-CSF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Rat GM-CSF by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When paired with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat GM-CSF (500-P225Bt) as detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat GM-CSF.

Western Blot:
For detection of Rat GM-CSF by Western blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Rat GM-CSF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine regulating production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active form exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space. Located on chromosome region 5q31, this gene cluster includes interleukins 4, 5, and 13, and is associated with 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. GM-CSF plays a role in tissue inflammation, and elevated cytokine levels have been observed in SARS-CoV-2-infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
