The Myb family of transcription factors, including A-, B-, and c-Myb genes, regulate differentiation, cellular growth, and gene expression.
c-Myb is essential for controlling proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells.
MYBBP1A (Myb-binding protein 1A) is a nuclear protein mainly localized in nucleoli, interacting with various transcription factors.
It enhances AhR-dependent gene expression and negatively regulates PGC-1α via p38 MAPK.
MYBBP1A also functions as a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein utilizing CRM1-dependent and independent export pathways.
