Product Specific Information

The eBio17B7 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A with no recognition of IL-17F. IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine promoting inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
Human IL-17A is a glycosylated homodimer (20–30 kDa) produced by activated CD4+ T cells, enhancing ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulating IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2 secretion in epithelial and endothelial cells.
IL-17A supports proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors into neutrophils. Mouse, rat, and human IL-17A can induce IL-6 secretion in mouse stromal cells, demonstrating cross-species receptor recognition.

IL-23-dependent, IL-17A-producing CD4+ T cells (Th-17 cells) represent a distinct subset from Th1/Th2 cells, negatively regulated by IFN-γ and IL-4.

Applications Reported: Useful for ELISA/ELISPOT detection.
Applications Tested: Tested as detection antibody in sandwich ELISA/ELISPOT assays for mouse IL-17A, with purified eBio17CK15A5 (14-7175) as capture antibody and recombinant IL-17A (14-8171) as standard.
Recommended detection concentration: 0.5–2 µg/mL.
A standard curve (1000–8 pg/mL) should be included per ELISA plate.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17 family (A–F). It signals through IL-17R (CDw217) and regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, inducing IL-6, COX-2, and nitric oxide production.
IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression and promotes secretion of pro-inflammatory mediators, contributing to immune cell recruitment and chronic inflammation in autoimmune and allergic diseases.
