Product Specific Information

• For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
• Suggested positive control for IHC: tonsil tissue.
• Antigen retrieval not required for paraffin sections, but staining may improve with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0).
• Mouse anti-Human CD62P antibody, clone AK-6 recognizes CD62P (P-selectin), also known as Granule membrane protein 140 (GMP140), Leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion molecule 3 (LECAM3), or Platelet activation-dependent granule-external membrane protein.

Target Information

P-selectin (CD62P, GMP-140, LECAM3) is a 140 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and rolling. It is stored in Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells and α-granules of platelets and rapidly translocates to the cell surface upon activation by thrombin, histamine, or other stimuli.
P-selectin mediates leukocyte interactions with activated endothelial cells or platelets and plays key roles in inflammation, thrombosis, and tissue injury. It binds to sialylated Lewis carbohydrate antigens on neutrophils and monocytes. Clinically, P-selectin aids in differentiating heparin-induced thrombocytopenia with or without thrombosis.
