Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human sFas Receptor. Anti-Human sFas Receptor-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human sFas Receptor by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human sFas Receptor (500-P295) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human sFas Receptor.

Western Blot:
To detect Human sFas Receptor by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 mg/mL. When used with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human sFas Receptor is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

FAS (Fas, CD95, APO-1) is a 46 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein functioning as a cell death receptor of the TNFR superfamily. It also exists in a soluble form (~26 kDa). Stimulation of FAS results in aggregation of FADD, formation of the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC), and activation of caspases, leading to apoptosis. FAS activates NF-kappaB, MAPK3/ERK1, MAPK8/JNK, and is involved in proliferative signaling in fibroblast and T cells. Multiple alternatively spliced variants exist, some lacking the transmembrane domain and negatively regulating apoptosis. The Fas/Fas ligand system is implicated in diseases such as AIDS, hepatitis, and cancer, and plays a role in anti-viral immune responses.
