Target Information

Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) is a member of the insulin receptor superfamily and plays a critical role in brain development.
Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene are associated with various tumors, including:

• Anaplastic large cell lymphoma
• Neuroblastoma
• Non-small cell lung cancer

Chromosomal rearrangements often generate a fusion gene combining ALK (chromosome 2) and NPM (chromosome 5), producing the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein.
ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with a transmembrane and extracellular domain, showing high sequence similarity to LTK, and functions in neuronal development and signaling.
