Target Information

Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and is essential for brain development.
Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene are associated with tumors such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer.
The most common genetic alteration is chromosomal rearrangement creating a fusion gene between ALK (chromosome 2) and nucleophosmin (chromosome 5), producing the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein.
ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with a transmembrane and extracellular domain, showing high sequence similarity to LTK. It plays a key role in neuronal development and signaling.
