Carrier-Free

• Reconstitution:
  Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile double distilled water containing at least 0.1% human serum albumin or bovine serum albumin to prepare a stock solution of ≥1 mg/mL.
  The reconstituted protein should be aliquoted and stored at ≤ -20°C.

• Storage:
  The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature but should be stored at -20°C for long-term stability.
  Reconstituted human IL-15 should be stored at ≤ -20°C (avoid frost-free freezers).
  Minimize freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer (NK) cell activation and proliferation.
It shares biological activities with IL-2 by binding to common hematopoietin receptor subunits, potentially competing and regulating each other’s activity.
IL-15 induces activation of JAK kinases and phosphorylation of STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6 transcription activators.
In mouse studies, IL-15 may enhance expression of the apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-xL, preventing apoptosis.
It plays a key role in the growth and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, macrophages, and monocytes, and is involved in immune responses, allograft rejection, and autoimmune disease pathogenesis.
IL-15 is also implicated in inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and pulmonary inflammation, and may serve as a therapeutic target for these conditions.
