Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
BID is a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. It is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators and mediates mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8). CASP8 cleaves BID, and the COOH-terminal fragment translocates to mitochondria, triggering cytochrome c release and apoptosis.
BID usually exists in an inactive form in the cytosol of living cells. Upon activation by caspase-8 in response to TNF alpha or Fas ligand, BID is cleaved, and the C-terminal 15 kDa fragment (p15) translocates to mitochondria, initiating cytochrome c release and cell apoptosis. Thus, BID serves as a direct molecular link between caspase-8 activation and the mitochondrial death machinery.
