This antibody detects endogenous levels of ATM only when phosphorylated at Ser1893.
Target Information
Ataxia-telangiectasia Mutated (ATM) is a protein belonging to the PI3/PI4 kinase family. It plays a critical role in the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks caused by ionizing radiation and other mutagens. ATM phosphorylates several downstream targets such as p53, Mdm2, BRCA1, and SMC1, thereby regulating cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and DNA damage response. Mutations in the ATM gene are associated with ataxia-telangiectasia, a disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immune deficiency, and increased cancer susceptibility. Activation of ATM-kinase triggers a cascade of phosphorylation events that coordinate DNA repair and cell survival mechanisms.
