Product Specific Information

PA1-825 detects C/EBP alpha protein in mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and immunoprecipitation procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects 30 and 43 kDa proteins representing C/EBP alpha in mouse 3T3-L1 cells.
These polypeptides are derived from alternative translation initiation.

Target Information

The C/EBP (CCAAT/enhancer binding protein) family of transcription factors—alpha, beta, delta, and epsilon—are widely expressed in various tissues.
These domains contain an evolutionarily conserved five-amino acid motif (the regulatory domain motif RDM) conforming to the consensus sequence (I/V/L) KXEP.
C/EBP transcription factors play a key role in metabolic regulation in liver and fat cells and act in a cascade aiding adipose cell development.
Three C/EBP beta isoforms (LAP*, LAP, and LIP) arise from different translation initiation sites and display distinct gene regulatory functions.
In neurological contexts, C/EBPs are implicated in nerve growth factor mediation, synaptic plasticity, and inflammatory responses in Alzheimer's disease patients.
