This antibody recognizes a different epitope on the CD8 beta chain compared to clone PPT22.

Target Information
The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes. It mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. Acting as a coreceptor, the CD8 antigen and the T-cell receptor recognize antigens presented by antigen-presenting cells (APCs) in the context of class I MHC molecules.
The functional coreceptor can be a homodimer (two alpha chains) or a heterodimer (one alpha and one beta chain). Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes CD8 beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants producing distinct membrane-associated or secreted forms. A pseudogene on chromosome 2 has also been identified.
