Target Information
SDHAF1 (Succinate dehydrogenase complex assembly factor 1) is a mitochondrial protein essential for the assembly of the succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) complex (Complex II) in the respiratory chain.
It does not physically associate with the complex in vivo. Mutations in SDHAF1 are associated with SDH-defective infantile leukoencephalopathy (mitochondrial complex II deficiency).
Unlike SDHAF2, SDHAF1 is not considered a tumor suppressor.
