Product Specific Information
MA1-82795 recognizes all four Dengue Virus serotypes (DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4) of the genus Flavivirus.
In Western blot, MA1-82795 detects an anti-E/envelope specific band at approximately 61 kDa under reducing conditions. A weak secondary band of 80 kDa may also be apparent.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using a sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for staining of paraffin sections.
Target Information
Dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever are acute febrile diseases found in the tropics and Africa. They are caused by one of four closely related virus serotypes of the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae. Each serotype is sufficiently different that there is no cross-protection, and epidemics caused by multiple serotypes (hyperendemicity) can occur.
Dengue is transmitted to humans by the Aedes aegypti (rarely Aedes albopictus) mosquito, which feeds during the day.
