Product Specific Information
This antibody detects phosphotyrosine-containing proteins on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of EGF-treated A431 cells, as well as pervanadate-treated A431, HeLa, Jurkat, and endothelial cells.
Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a critical role in transduction of mitogenic signals from transmembrane receptors and transformation by oncogene tyrosine kinases. It is a key mechanism in signal transduction during normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation. Antibodies recognizing phosphorylated tyrosine residues are invaluable tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and their biochemical pathways. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical protocols where secondary antibody use may complicate detection.
