Caspase-1 (CASP1)는 IL-1β를 Asp와 Ala 사이에서 절단하는 티올 프로테아제로, 성숙한 사이토카인의 방출을 유도하여 다양한 염증 반응에 관여합니다. 또한 SREBP를 절단 및 활성화하며, 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 촉진합니다. 인플라마좀 활성화 시, DNA 바이러스 감염 동안 CASP1은 CGAS 절단을 통해 항바이러스 면역을 조절합니다.
