Target Information
ADAMTS5, also known as Implantin or Aggrecanase 2, is a member of the ADAMs (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase) metalloproteinase family containing thrombospondin (TS) repeats.
ADAMTS5 was first described as a protein elevated in mice during the peri-implantation period and later identified as Aggrecanase 11, elevated in arthritic synovium.
It is expressed in human and mouse tissues including heart, lung, cervix, uterus, ovary, brain, cartilage, and others, as well as in chondroblastoma cell lines.
