Product Specific Information
This antibody detects human Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL) in direct ELISAs and shows less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human LIPG, LIPI, and PNLIPRP1.
Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.2 mg/mL.
Target Information
LPL encodes lipoprotein lipase, expressed in heart, muscle, and adipose tissue. It functions as a homodimer with dual roles as a triglyceride hydrolase and a ligand/bridging factor for receptor-mediated lipoprotein uptake.
Severe mutations in LPL cause type I hyperlipoproteinemia, while milder mutations are associated with various lipoprotein metabolism disorders.
