Product Specific Information
- Specificity: Neutralizes mouse interferon beta.
- Activity: 1.55×10⁶ NU/mL.
Interferon activity was measured using a cytopathic effect inhibition assay with L929 cells and EMCV.
One neutralization unit is defined as the amount of serum required to neutralize one unit of mouse IFN beta to an endpoint of 50%. - For retention of full activity, do not store above -70°C.

Target Information
Type I Interferons (IFN-alpha/beta) are produced primarily in response to viral infection by Natural IFN-producing cells (IPCs) as part of the host immune response.
They can also inhibit tumor development. IFN-beta binding activates tyrosine kinases Jak1 and Tyk2, leading to phosphorylation of STAT family transcription factors and expression of immune response genes.
Several Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are known to stimulate IFN-beta production.
Clinically, IFN-beta is used for treatment of tumors, infections, and multiple sclerosis.
